Primary Membership
The basic, regular membership in AAA Southern New England is the Primary Membership. It provides the named member with all the privileges, benefits and services offered by the Club as described in the Member Handbook.
Associate Membership
Associate Membership is available to other persons of driving age living in the same residence as the Primary Member. There must be a Primary Membership in the household before an Associate Member may enroll. The Associate Member receives a separate membership card and is entitled to all the privileges, benefits and services of the Primary Member at a reduced rate. The only exception is that Associate Members do not receive the Club publication, AAA horizons, as only one copy is mailed to each household.
AAA Plus Membership
AAA Plus membership has been designed to allow existing Club Members to apply for an optional, enhanced benefit package of certain AAA services most requested by Club members who require the ultimate in convenience and protection. For an additional annual fee, Club Members who meet certain requirements can become AAA Plus members. In order to upgrade, please contact our Membership Department by phone at: 1-800-JOIN-AAA to check for eligibility.
The AAA Plus Benefits Package includes:
- Up to 100 miles FREE TOWING
- Emergency Lock and Key Service up to $100
- Non-AAA Road Service Reimbursement
- FREE Fuel and Rescue Service
- Up to $750 Trip-Continuation Reimbursement - when a member's vehicle is disabled as a result of traffic accident 50 miles or more from their home, reimbursement is provided up to $750 for expenses incurred within 72 hours after the accident, including food, lodging, or transportation to their destination on scheduled commercial transportation.
- Extended Extrication Service - extends coverage to include 2 service vehicles for up to 1 hour of service
- $2000 Reward For Theft of Your Car ($1000 available to Basic members)
- Up to $2600 Legal Fee Reimbursement ($1300 available to Basic members)***
- FREE Foreign AAA Travel Books and Maps
- FREE Passport Photos - one color set provided FREE to AAA Plus members. Additional sets $4. ($8/set available to Basic members, additional sets $4)
AAA Plus Membership Restrictions
In order to be accepted for AAA Plus Membership, you must have been an existing member for one year, must not have exceeded the maximum road service usage in any one of the last three years of membership years, and must enroll all AAA members in your household in Plus coverage. The Club reserves the right to review membership history before accepting a member for Plus coverage. Plus coverage commences when you have your Plus card in your possession, which should take approximately 7-10 business days after approval.
Membership Information
AAA Southern New England members need not possess a driver's license; however, they must be of legal driving age. Service is provided only to those individuals with memberships issued in their names. Proof of identity may be required, so make sure every member of your family has this protection. Club services, benefits and membership dues are subject to change. Members will be advised of any changes in the Club's official publication, AAA HORIZONS.
Your Membership Card
Your membership card is your AAA identification. Carry it with you at all times. It must be in your possession to obtain all AAA services. It identifies you as a Club member and allows you to take advantage of all the benefits and services provided with your membership. When requesting service it is important to have your current membership card available. A charge of $5.00 is incurred to replace membership cards.
Club Territory
AAA Southern New England serves members in Rhode Island; the following counties in Connecticut: New Haven, Fairfield and Litchfield; and the following counties in Massachusetts: Bristol, Middlesex, Worcester, Berkshire, Plymouth, Suffolk, Barnstable, and Norfolk.
Your local Auto Club membership also makes you an affiliate of the American Automobile Association. As such, AAA services here at home are also available to you at every AAA club and branch office throughout the United States. You are also eligible for service at all club offices of the Canadian Automobile Association and at affiliated auto club offices in numerous other foreign countries
